Company Press Release

Xerox, Sun, iPlanet E-Commerce Solutions Team Up to Transform
Financial and Healthcare Customer Information for Internet Delivery

Deal Makes Information Available to Customers How and When They Need It

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 28, 2000-- Xerox Corporation (NYSE:XRX - news), Sun Microsystems, Inc. (NASDAQ: SUNW - news) and
iPlanet(TM) E-Commerce Solutions, a Sun-Netscape Alliance, today announced an agreement that helps financial services and healthcare organizations deliver
information to their customers via the Internet. The companies' bundled hardware, software and service solution allows organizations to design, assemble and
deliver large volumes of documents, such as statements and bills, to a Web site or an e-mail document, as well as to more traditional media such as
CD-ROMs, archives or paper documents.

``Our customers in the financial services and healthcare industries communicate with their customers on a quarterly, monthly, or even daily basis,' said Philip
Pilibosian, senior vice president and general manager, Worldwide Financial Services and Healthcare Business, Xerox Document Solutions Group. ``Now,
Xerox, iPlanet E-Commerce Solutions and Sun plan to offer the Xerox Internet Presentment Solution to enable these enterprises to meet customers' changing
needs by delivering information how and when they need it.'

Through this agreement, the preferred software platform is comprised of iPlanet e-commerce software including iPlanet(TM) Application Server, iPlanet
BillerXpert, iPlanet Directory Server and iPlanet Web Server. iPlanet BillerXpert, the core product in iPlanet's Internet bill presentment and payment solution
for companies creating and participating in open marketplaces, allows personalized statement presentation and set notifications of new bills, captures customer
information and conducts interactive marketing campaigns through event-based relationship management, user-activity tracking and targeted email.

Sun Microsystems servers with the Solaris(TM) Operating Environment is the preferred server platform. The Xerox offering is unique in the industry because a
single integrated account team from Xerox markets, sells, installs and services all components of this solution.

``We are combining iPlanet's established strength in the Internet bill presentment and payment arena with Xerox' and Sun's expertise in document delivery and
enterprise hardware platform architecture,' said Steve Savignano, senior vice president and general manager of iPlanet E-Commerce Solutions Applications
Division. ``Together we are dramatically simplifying the delivery process through which consumers receive critical data, so that they can quickly make informed
decisions about their lives.'

``Sun continues to pave the way for financial institutions and their partners to effectively dot-com their organization,' said John Hake, director of worldwide
financial services at Sun. ``Electronic bill payment and presentment is an important emerging market, and by working with Xerox and iPlanet we can offer
customers a complete solution.'

The Xerox Internet Presentment Solution is available immediately from Xerox in North America and Europe. Pricing depends on the complexity of installation
in each customer's environment.
