Putting a face on the Russian pgm export market: Can one Russian make a difference?-
_______________

'I met a gentleman sporting a Marc Rich name tag the other day. It was at Standard Bank London's annual platinum presentation

'"Is [aluminium and base metals trader] Marc Rich now trading platinum and palladium?" I asked.
...
'...I asked the gentleman for his card.

'It read : "Alexey V. Zakharov---- The Trade Delegation of The Russian Federation In The UK."

'"You've given me the wrong card," I said.

'Mr Zakharov shook his head and smiled.
...
'Mr Zakharov told us that platinum and palladium would be delivered in a few weeks and there would be "big changes" relating to Russia's platinum metals marketing.

'The precious metals community, struggling with Russian induced gyrating platinum, palladium and rhodium prices, waits and waits.'

Maybe there is more than one Russian trying to make news? I was just getting used to the varying, contradictory and unbelievable 'news' coming out of Russia -- it's all been real good for the pgm market and equities.
