Deployed at 60 customer sites worldwide
KANATA, Ontario, February 28, 2000 -- Broadband wireless industry leader Newbridge Networks today announced that its award-winning broadband wireless solutions are achieving wide-reaching acceptance throughout the world, as demonstrated by the increasing number of shipments to customers.
Revenue in the third quarter of fiscal year 2000 from the company's broadband access products more than doubled compared with the previous quarter and now represent approximately 15 percent of Newbridge revenues.
Newbridge broadband wireless solutions are being used globally by more than 60 customers, including Bell South International, Toshiba, BT Belgium, Telenordia, MaxLink, Home Telephone, Central Texas Telephone, Gateway Telecom, TriCorners Telecommunications and South Central Telecom.

Acceptance of the Newbridge LMDS equipment has been accelerated by FCC certification of the equipment in the United States, as well as the endorsements of several industry luminaries.
For instance, Newbridge won the IEC 1999 InfoVision Award for end-to-end broadband wireless solutions, as well as Data Communications' Hot Product Award and the Frost & Sullivan Market Engineering Vendor Excellence Award for its leadership in LMDS broadband wireless development.
LMDS is a high-frequency broadband wireless system that can be quickly deployed to cost-effectively deliver data, high-speed Internet, voice, video and multimedia services using point-to-multipoint distribution systems.
