Just another 2 cents -
I've tried to write this note 3 different times, rewording 3 times :). TS is a real time program, still has the best vibrant graphics, advanced system testing and optimization. I say that and I've put put on and taken off this program at least a 1/2 dozen times over the last 5yrs :)....
I've been using WOWdt over the last couple years. I guess I see it as an economical limit what I'd pay for. I think for even the frequent trader there's a better bang for the buck. I got in at ver 2.7 & 3, for $2200 no maint and got lucky for a 500 upgrade to the current. The system seems stable enough with the recent 4c. And yes, I just put it back on. It's a sickness :) but I'm only using it End of Day style. I want to try a little more testing. I am however trying a new program "Talk about a pain in the butt" LiveWire Trader .. DOS based, for a 4 monitor setup, they recomend separate old trident cards w/ win 95 at best if the program is not running, with bugs out the Waz**. Retail $3,500! Why you ask :)? Real time, full boat, unrestricted multi-scanning at they say 500 symbols per second. But I have to tell ya, it's a whole different world. It also has a portfolio manager for tracking trades real time. So far, I'm working towards getting LW to identify setups. So far so good, simple concepts but effective. My style is position trading, say 5-6 positions at any given time looking to trade points. But I want my own full base. WOWdt has 8k symbols and LW carries 4k.
I guess the "answer" is, you have to name your own poison.
Now you want to talk about data feeds :0
DTN at 1/3 the price, lately (past week) is justified. 5 to 15 min delay on real time. A sat feed that can't keep up with the Internet MBTrading (albeit only a few symbols and 1/2 doz L2s).
So, WHERE'S MY WIRELESS, DIGITAL, 2 GIG/SEC, 40 DOLLAR A MONTH, 2 SECOND EXECUTION, SUPER TRADING ALL IN ONE, COMPLETE WITH LIVE ANALYST SITTING NEXT TO ME, SOMEONE POURING COFFE, TRADING SETUP ????? !!!!
I HAVE TO MOVE WHERE ??? BUY WHAT KIND OF FURNITURE ???
