rick, over the last 5 mths, short position has if anything decreased. However over the last 2 mths, avg dly vol. has gone down 6o to 70%. That makes current short position 2 to 3x more effective than few months ago. More specifically, shorts went from 400kshrs to 350kshrs but to cover the shorts, it went from 2.5 days to 5 days now. As a result upward movement on short covering will be much more sharper than before.
