May add more SIGM tomorrow. Have to watch price action and overall market though, as SIGM tends to follow the broader market.
I don't know enough about the MPEG compression standards, but isn't this what they will be using in internet based, interactive TV?
"A technology leader in advancing the MPEG (Moving Picture
Experts Group) standard and the streaming media technology
for interactive desktop video and video conferencing, the
company [SIGM] provides pivotal enabling technologies to
industry leaders including Microsoft©, Intel©, IBM and
Cisco© Systems."
Earnings looked good today:
For the year ended January 31, 2000, sales were $50,324,000,
up 16% from $43,540,000 reported for fiscal 1999. Sigma
reported net income of $2,263,000, or $0.13 per share,
diluted, for fiscal 2000 compared to a net loss of
$2,690,000, or $0.21 per share, diluted, in fiscal 1999.
And these points seem worthy of a mention.........

our EM8400 progressive MPEG-2/DVD decoder chip.
-- Liberate Technologies and Microsoft TV selected Sigma
as a third-party partner for video on demand and DVD
playback in their set-top box solutions.

Volume has been low and consolidation has been taking place for the last couple weeks between $9- $11.
Fundamentals look good for Sigma, going forward. The stock needs some volume and a break above 11 1/2 to get some wheels. ....Could be a sleeper.
