I don't know how many people on this thread live in the Bay Area, but the Components, Packaging, and Manufacturing Technology Society of IEEE is giving a talk entitled "Why Outsourcing IC Assembly is a High Growth Industry" March 8. It is an RSVP affair, see the link. (Don't know if IEEE membership is necessary) cpmt.org It looks to have a little sales pitch, as the speaker is the Director od Packaging Technology at AIT.
