Certainly a lot of what The Register publishes is garbage, but sometimes what they say is right on the nose.

The most respectable professors and trade press told us years ago that RISC or VLIW would kick x86's rear. VESA knocked off PCI. Verilog is dead. I find the Register to be refreshingly accurate. ;^))

Except when they are dead wrong.
