Hi Ken,,thanks for striking home the value of cash..I think I have fallen under the stock market spell..have to be invested in stocks<g>..And I need to change my way of thinking,,avoid the pitfalls of greed and compulsion to own stocks<vbg>..As you, I have had a killer past year,,especially in Janus funds(hate to keep harping on these<g>) was up 120% for 99 and am up 45% YTD..amazing what compounding will do with back to back performance numbers like these<g>..on top of that, this is where the bulk of my retirement is...I keeping thinking about historical market performance being in the 10% profit range
per year...I have hop-scotched(?) a number of years, in the last 14 months...So I am looking for diversification ideas,,has anyone looked at HOLDRS?http://www.adrbny.com/adr/introholdrs.htm
At this point, I am willing to step out of the market,,and re-evaluate my game plan...So my guess, the DOW up 300 and Naz up 150 for today,,,since I am out and not in <LOL!!!>

PS: on a different note, thanks to all who post here,,this thread is a great sounding board,,even if I have to post to myself once in awhile<lol>...Seriously,,here in the sticks,,there aren't many folks around to discuss, stocks, funds etc...so this is a great place,,even if SI continues to make it more difficult to use..;^)(I like the old portfolio features better than the new)
PPs: any feel as to what the market will do? Still don't like the way GE is acting,,put in a another lower top yesterday, guess we watch 126 207.61.23.98
