Re: "that Merril Lynch had a meeting with the company this morning and that that Merril Lynch had a meeting with the company this morning and that they are "on track with their ATHLON microprocessor" and that Merril Lynch raised their estimates for 2000 from $1.94 to $2.10."

Comment: "on track with their ATHLON microprocessor" I'd interpret to mean 950 MHz intro in near term, a minimum of 1.5 million Athys in Q1, and consequently record Q1 revenues exceeding $1 billion and record Q1 earnings excedding $0.75". I'd also interpret it to mean that the Salomon Smith Barney estimate of 12 million Athys in Y2000 is doable...I'll take the $2.10 given it's ML, but the way fundamentals are trending for AMD at the moment, they'll make $2.10 in Q4 alone and no less than $4.00 for total Y2000!
