News out last night. : ) Monday February 28, 9:04 pm Eastern Time Ericsson, 724 partner on wireless e-commerce NEW ORLEANS, Feb 28 (Reuters) - Swedish cellphone maker Ericsson (NasdaqNM:ERICY - news) and Canadian software company 724 Solutions Inc (Toronto:SVN.TO - news). (NasdaqNM:SVNX - news) said Monday they agreed to develop wireless e-commerce technology for financial services that would work across many different kinds of networks. The two companies said the mobile Internet technology will allow customers to make secure financial transactions ``anytime, anywhere.' 724's Internet infrastructure allows financial institutions to offer online banking, while Ericsson's infrastructure products and mobile handsets offer the wireless technology behind the plan. The two companies said they will collaborate on devices, wireless infrastructure and standards, and secure payment between financial institutions, merchants and consumers.
