USABancShares.com Unplugs zeroTIME
Banking; Full Wireless Functionality
Introduced

Business Wire - February 29, 2000 09:20

PHILADELPHIA--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 29,
2000--USABancShares.com today announced that it has completed
development of a wireless banking platform, allowing users to access real time
account data and transact banking business around the clock.

Wireless functionality includes full transaction-based services such as account
transfers, bill payment, balance and history inquiry, and interactive customer
service. The company is among the first in the nation to offer such functionality,
effectively "unplugging" banking from the wired world through secure wireless
server protocol.

"Wireless technology is the fastest growing segment in the connectivity market,
and our ability to empower users by moving in at an early stage is a critical
accomplishment for us. Our Network now provides fast, reliable and
convenient access no matter what mode or device people may choose for
connectivity," said Ken Tepper, President & CEO of USABancShares.com.

"While the Internet is incredibly powerful, I was completely energized when I
first retrieved my account balance over the Palm VII during our beta test
period. The concept of having complete and unplugged control over personal
finances is incredible . . . and the reality provides awesome potential," he
concluded.

Tepper said the company intends to maximize its wireless Network by
partnering with wireless device and cellular phone manufacturers in the
placement of screen-top icons leading directly to the company's banking
products and services.

Users can access the new service through a number of popular devices, to
include the industry leading Palm VII personal digital assistant (PDA) and a
variety of cellular phones. In addition to other distribution channels, access
modules can be downloaded free of charge at the company's primary retail
banking site, www.usabancshares.com, beginning March 15, 2000.

USABancShares.com is one of the first Internet companies to offer wireless
access to FDIC insured banking products and services. Ranked No.1 in the
country by GOMEZ Advisors for its "energyONE" account,
USABancShares.com owns both an online FDIC insured bank and NASD
regulated brokerage firm.

Through partnerships with a variety of Internet services and e-commerce
companies, USABancShares.com is dedicated to providing the country's
premier online financial services experience at www.usabancshares.com and a
number of other co-branded and private labeled sites throughout the Internet,
including BowieBanc.com, CDenergy.com, and b2banc.com.
