Just thinkin' out loud here....

News out today about GONT's new B2B and B2C division. This made me think. While I consider Auctionomics to be a joke as far as a business venture, and SGOL is not much better, maybe their purpose is to serve as an example. What better way to say, "Hey, this is what we can do for you. Let us show you our working commerce site." Sure, nobody's heard of Auctionomics or SGOL, but if a big name company without much of a web presence liked what they saw, we could design something for them as well. Make sense?

Also, while I'm rambling, I was thinking about the constant debate over room internet access vs lobby internet access in hotels. People keep saying how room access will kill GONT's business plan. Well, let me throw this at you. What if GONT uses their lobby contracts as a stepping-stone to offer room hook-ups to those same hotels? Think about it. If you are a satisfied hotel owner who has used a GONT kiosk for months or years (remember: exclusive 4 year contract with each hotel) you will probably be pretty open to the idea of dealing with that same company for further internet projects. Even if another company comes along with a slightly cheaper price or slicker plan, there's something to be said for loyalty and dealing with an entity you are already familiar and comfortable with. Of course, this assumes that dealing with GONT is both a pleasant and profitable experience for the current hotel owners (something which we don't know yet for sure!).

So, I guess in a nutshell I am trying to say that I could see how many of GONT's current activities are actually a prelude to other ventures. And I don't think any of my ideas are too far off.

Well, that's enough from me. The echo in here is driving me nuts........

;-)
