COMS. I've been considering the possibility that PALM might run up to an irrational price Thurs. or Fri. If so, it seams like there might be a chance to sell PALM short against COMS, lock in your profit and wait for an opportunity to buy PALM back once the exhuberance subsides. The trick is valuing COMS. I think a rational value for COMS without PALM might be around $25. Any valuation of COMS less than $25 plus the value of 1.5 PALM shares would reflect the time discount. It would appear the only risk would be that the spin off didn't happen or the terms were changed. My questions are: 1. what is a reasonable premium for this risk? 2. What am I missing? Anyone care to comment?
