ML Upgrade - excerpts -- without comment.

ML met with AMD. FY99 earnings raised from $1.94 to $2.10. INTC to attack AMDs recently improved market share. Rating stays neutral but merits attention.

Athlon shipments estimates raised from from 1.0 to 1.1 @ $250.00 ASP in Q1.

Minimum K6 speeds now 600 M Hz.

Thunderbird to release first, then Spitfire, Thunderbird at least in Q2. Aggressive schedule with little room for slippage before Slick Willie.

Dresden is up and running and products from Dresden will show up in Q2. Early production is going well.

Q1 Athlon unit increase was the reason for upgraded earnings estimate from $1.94 to $2.10.

More interesting than the fact that AMD has executed well on Athlon is that ..."the standard INTC tactic of retreating upmarket and blitzing AMD with aggressive pricing may prove difficult to release."

Limited OEM interest in 750+ M Hz processors -- Market wants cheap 500 to 700s.

Thanks, Al.
