(Nasdaq: INCY - news), a leading provider of genomic information, and Vertex Pharmaceuticals Incorporated (Nasdaq: VRTX - news) announced today an agreement in which Vertex will gain commercial access to Incyte's LifeSeq© Gold database for use in small molecule drug discovery. Vertex will use the genomic information as part of its chemogenomics discovery effort, which seeks to rapidly and simultaneously design multiple lead classes of drugs directed at protein targets in gene families.
