The current fear on wall street is one of doom for MSFT. But is it real? Wall street thinks of the following scenario (1) TPJ issues verdict that MSFT violated Sherman anti trust laws and should be punished heavily. (2) Several hundred class action lawsuits follow from consumers. (3) MSFT gets into a Phillip Morris situation. (4) MSFT mgmt gets distracted. (5) MSFT reports that APril Q and June Q will be below expectations and FY01 will be bad. How many of you believe in this scenario? The reason I don't is because Gates and Balmer are one of the best thinkers in the business community. They think through all consequences and have Plan A, B, C, D. They seem to be still on Plan A.
