I use Tradestation in conjunction with QCharts. Same feed supplies both. For my purposes it works very well.

QCharts provides me the "instant charting" of anything, which I need when I'm checking out things I don't trade; QFeed drives TradeStation 2000i SP4c just fine, no stability issues at all. I have also used PCQuote's Hyperfeed data product with TS very successfully as well.

Overall I prefer the TS/QC combo for redundancy, QC is at a good price point; and I use the programming ability within TS to deal with my requirements for trading.

I only trade futures and indexes intraday, but I do capture between 20 and 500 stocks depending on the phase of the moon and mood I'm in. I do position trade stocks in retirement accounts when the market isn't so psycho.

TS is a tool - recent versions are stable enough - so what the tool does for you is up to your imagination IMO.
