I've got to think S&P folks are pissed they let this one go so long.

Could be--but i bet the index fund managers will be more pissed. The longer they let it go, the worse it gets for the index managers when they have to buy. That is not going to help their performance versus managed funds.

I bet S and P is hoping for a decline in these types of stocks but it looks like the opposite is happening.

Now do they wait longer? I don't think so as that would start people questioning whether this a good benchmark for the market as a whole. IMHO, the pressure is on!!
The low 12 month trailing Revenue figure is probably the last hurdle JDSU had to clear but with the recent earnings report, that number is now better---it is certainly in line with Yahoo when it was added. With such a great growth rate, we would be over 1 billion trailing revenues very quickly--the march quarter should do it.
The revenues is what i feel was the missing "ingredient". Now i believe all their criterea is probably satisfied. Although revenue is not listed as a consideration, you can bet it is one of their secret factors to consider.
Clearly, JDSU was not an IPO in the last 1 or 2 years so that is not a problem (unlike Goldman sachs or UPS type of companies).

At this point, the market cap is the biggest factor for S and P to consider. Maybe it will create a bit of an urgency to add JDSU instead of some others they may have been considering.

I am still betting on JDSU, VRTS, Q, and maybe even LVLT to be added soon.

Sorry if my S and P posts get annoying. I won't rest until it is in the index.<g>
