I did get through and spoke with Mo for about 15 minutes. He was very forthcoming and related the following:
They are working on getting an emergency court hearing tomorrow or Friday in FEDERAL court. We shouldn't have to wait until May 8th.
He claims there is no basis for the action by the county.
The issue did come from one judge in the county, Mo is looking to go to Federal Court, not county court to deal with this.
He feels that this was, in part, orchestrated and that it could have been part of a short cover strategy. He felt that the shorts are now covering and at one time there was about a million short. (Could that be the buying that is pushing it up to .625 as I write this?)
He is going ahead with the class action and you should call 423-987-1477 and leave your info with him (phone, email, fax) so that you can be included.
Without going too far, we discussed the "old boys network" and the effect of an Egyptian running a company that works with a lot of minority efforts in TN. Let me just say that from our discussion, I believe that this is a powerful factor that shouldn't be ruled out in the county's treatment of Mo and GIFS.
All of this was what I understood from our conversation. As a long time lurker, I really don't know who to believe on this thread. I was burned, but hung in because most dead cats bounce. While I'm tempted to get out over .50, my conversation with Mo has stayed my hand until the end of the week. See if he gets his court date. If he does, that would imply to me that the Feds thinks he has a case worth hearing (no pun intended).
And I still don't know what to believe. Please don't take my comments as anything other than my impression after talking with Mo.
