S&P 500 is out of touch with the real world. I would have to agree. I was a mutual fund investor for years, the S&P was representative of my portfolio then. I switched to a single stock investor (Dell). By definition an aggregate couldn't represent that. I'm in mixed tech stocks now and the S&P does not seem relevent unless I look at the performance of mutual funds still held in a 401K. It's clear what the S&P is representing. TP
