Hi James, performance wise I think we all agree that DMT's multiple band method provides slightly better performance. Nothing is free. DMT has been known for its high price and high power costs, compared to CAP. I think to be fair, one should give the complete picture. I expect the market to choose both line codes. CAP this year and maybe DMT next year. I see business advantages to both.

PS. Westell supports both CAP and (Amati) DMT. Paradyne is CAP only, for the near future (just like Amati is DMT only). Considering Paradyne's history with Lucent and Globespan, I see no significance to Westell not representing CAP in this trial.

PPS. 18,000 ft is standard for ADSL at 1.5Mbps.
