Scott, I remember a chart that George did on numbers of cell phones in use throughout the world. Too bad he didn't break it down by satelite vs. cell tower providers. <Globalstar has stated that they need only one million subscribers worldwide to be profitable.> True, but easier said than done. "Globalstar, a network of 48 satellites, is aiming to be the first successful operator of a satellite-telephone system. New York-based Globalstar has revised subscriber estimates in recent months after attracting customers more slowly than expected, analysts have said." (See link below) I wonder if the additional areas that Globalstar covers are eligible for compensation by other wireless companies like WCOM vs. Vodaphone. I wish I could hear or read something by a customer using the Globalstar system. With the Iridium fiasco in my area, I'm leery of any satelite project alledgely better. "Globalstar USA said its international roaming charges will be at a base price of $1.79 per minute plus international charges. This price applies to Globalstar USA customers who travel outside the U.S." quote.bloomberg.com I don't see the average phone user signing up with this cost. Jack
