Consider that if an insider such as Ingenico was to acquire (increase ownership) in this operation, they would already have acquired shares on the open market by working with a brokerage to keep the price down while they accumulated volume - look at volume and price action in last 4 months, particularly the selling following news releases. The large majority of shares in Canada have gone through Cannacord & Octagon, First Boston has also participated as the US market maker. Lowen has been accumulating IVI on the TSE for several months now with no sales that I have noticed. -Ingenico can increase it's position by 1.4mm in the open market before it gets back to the 17% held prior to the merger. -Ingenico would be in position to have the BOD cancel the rights (poison pill), and would motivate the cleaning up of balance sheet and legal issues before tendering a friendly takeover that would reward the departing management. -Ingenico does not need more manufacturing facilities. -Ingenico/IBM joint ventures make more sense than CMIV/IBM, particularly when considering track record of existing CMIV management. -Ingenico has the worldwide connections & leading technologies. IMHO these CMIV guys wouldn't recognize the can and would probably stumble if they tried to kick a beachball. Come to think of it, maybe I am senseless because I'm going to accumulate.
