"Qualcomm devised and owns the CDMA standard," McAteer said. "(Now) Qualcomm is seeking to transition CDMA carriers to the next version of this standard, Wideband CDMA, and maintain control over the standard to ensure it continues to receive its royalty payments." It's difficult to take this article seriously with statements like the above. Even Snyder wouldn't say something that stupid. What's it take to become an analyst these days?
