No, G* does not feel as risky as Qcom at this point. G* works technically, and there is no current competition and more importantly fewer vested interests undertaking an almost continuous PR campaign of FUD or patent lawsuits. The only risk to G* at this point is the fear and uncertainty that there is a sufficient market; that's the only thing that hasn't been proven out by the company. THERE IS. DO NOT WORRY. For those old Qcommers, Qcom is just as confident as ever that G* will be a resounding commercial success.

BTW, I heard today that 19 of the Iridium satellites don't work anymore. (But then, how many sats does it take to transfer 3 calls.) The only value left to Iridium is the spectrum. Look for MOT to take a big hit as a result of the unsecured creditors' suit.
