It's obvious that you don't know Texas. The history is too complex to relate in a post, but there were no Republicans in Texas for 100 years, then came Tower, then came Reagan. Now there are still many areas where Republicans go by the name of Democrats. We know who is who, but you can never tell without the scorecard. It's exactly because of that confusion that the right wing picked a candidate (who is not personally right wing by the way) to show centerist support when in fact he is a clueless clown.
