I too thought there was a chance of a Y2K meltdown but frankly (and I am in the IT biz) most of us really didn't know what to expect. My major clients all seemed to be well prepared, what no one knew for sure was just how prepared everyone else was. I'm happy things turned out well enough, and that the lunatic fringe decided or was convinced to leave the night alone and not make any "statements".
