I'm afraid that selling an option has nothing to do with exercising it. Excersing it means buying the stock at 5 (the strike price). Your profit is 10-5 = 5.00. The profit is 5/.5 = 1000%. You are mixed up. The option would only be at 5.00 if the stock was at 10, and the option's strike was 5. I would recommend you avoid Bre-x options if you don't know at least that, as you are obviously an amateur.
