John- As someone just pointed out upstream, GG can't follow details of every player in the telecommunications game. And note GG says, "....as far as I can tell." The guy is a visionary and probably doesn't listen into each and every CC that TLAB holds. TLAB has four big projects in hand that will make them new world players in the telecom game.
In the meantime, they have the cockaroach. The TITAN 5500. Whose growth seems to confound a lot of experts and certainly visionaries such as GG. But to me it's simple. It's called legacy networks. As I mention here: Message 13010659. But fellow SIer, WTC does a much better job in my PS reference.
But no doubt, TLAB understands the 5500 role in the market. They are working hard on new project development all the time. As Birck said in the CC(paraphrased), "Make no mistake, as our new projects rollout, we are definitely in the switching game."
Once again, I don't want to give the impression I know what TLAB is doing is right or wrong. But due to it's high profile, and tremendous success in, "legacy," networks, TLAB is a fascinating company to watch. -MikeM(From Florida) |
