TurboLinux Inc. and MerlinSoftware Forge Strategic Alliance
to Market their Products Globally

ALTAMONTE SPRINGS, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 1, 2000--Merlin Software
Technologies MLSW a leading provider of Linux based software applications and utilities
including PerfectBACKUP+ and HotWire Fax, today announced a strategic alliance with
TurboLinux Inc., the leader in high-performance Linux software and the worlds fastest
growing Linux company.

Under the agreement, the companies will cooperate to begin worldwide distribution of their
bundled products for the Linux operating system (OS).

The TurboLinux distribution increased 550% for 1999 over 1998 making it the worlds fastest
growing Linux distribution according to International Data Corporation. Already the number
