WOW!! Waccov - I am extremely impressed. Actually someone on here that can see through this board's eternal cheer-leading and optimism that MSFT's glory days will return any day now.

You are correct that MSFT stock will be sitting in this pothole for quite some time (at least a year). There may be a few small stock spikes along the way that will get these board cheerleaders excited, but the little speed-bump will slide away again.

You need to expand the issues past political though. MSFT's problems are not simply political anymore. They are being attacked by all corners including the political one.

The industry media has grown cold of MSFT's constant promises and lack of true quality products and they are calling MSFT publicly on it. The latest Win2K release is perfect evidence of that. Sit down and count how many positive product release press articles MSFT had vs bad ones (that would not have been the case in previous releases).

The industry itself has unshackled itself from MSFT's BS of a "One-World - MSFT World" view of the IT industry. They have started to embraced open standards, OSes, protocols, and the Internet in general. The industry now looks carefully at what MSFT is releasing that might tie them into MSFT's old "One-World - MSFT World" business rule.

MSFT's top execs refuse to believe that their aging "One-World - MSFT World" will not work and they continue to produce products and services that try to attain this invalid boat anchor of a goal. Gates - It aint gonna happen anymore!

The DOJ and 19 State AGs have opened a huge can of worms for MSFT but has done the industry and consumer a huge favor by giving the industry players the guts now to speak up on the monopolistic abuses that they have been facing from MSFT over all these years. The steady growth of lawsuits against MSFT related to their abuse of monopolist status will only become more and more apparent over the coming months - specially when it become official from Jackson that MSFT is a monopoly and has abused their rights.

I could go on, but you are starting to get the idea. I have said this over a year ago (and you all laughed) but the predictions have come true. I hate to tell you all but I would say that you have not seen the worst of my predictions yet. This is not a simple conspiracy against your beloved MSFT! This is the evolution of an industry giant. Look back at many other companies that have had the pleasure of a monopoly status and realize the similarities.

The only hope for MSFT is that the top guard be replaced - YIKES! I bet you all think that is crazy - because they are MSFT's own worst enemy. They are in an old paradigm and cannot break into the new industry paradigm. The "One-World - MSFT World" business rule will not fly anymore and Gates/Balmer do not understand that.

But you can all rest assure about something - MSFT's history and evolution will continue to evolve in a relatively predictable manner, regardless how much cheerleading JohnD and others on this board will post in a vain attempt to ensure the masses that all is OK.

PS - so exactly when will that TOY factor kick in boys? Looks like I havent helped your stock at all by posting. ROFL!!!!

Cheers all!
