Big time. He was a Dem pollster and campaign adviser. Though you can see that he's put that behind him and can't stand the lies.
Michael Barone has a new position that I can't recall, perhaps with the National Journal. Michael Barone was the Senior Staff Editor for Reader's Digest, based in Washington, D.C. He was Senior Writer with U.S. News & World Report from 1989 to 1996, Editorial Page Staff Member at The Washington Post from 1982 to 1989, and Vice President of Peter D. Hart Research Associates from 1974 to 1981. He is a graduate of Harvard College (1966) and Yale Law School (1969), and was an editor of The Harvard Crimson and The Yale Law Journal. He served as Law Clerk to Judge Wade H. McCree, Jr., of the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit from 1969 to 1971.
Barone is the co-author of The Almanac of American Politics, published every two years by National Journal, which was nominated for a National Book Award in its first edition. The first edition appeared in 1971; the 14th edition appeared in summer 1997. He is also the author of Our Country: The Shaping of America from Roosevelt to Reagan (1990).
His articles have appeared in many magazines and periodicals, including The Economist, The Weekly Standard, National Review, Reason, The New Republic, The American Spectator, the Time Literary Supplement, and the Italian publication Libro Aperto.
He has appeared on many television programs, including The McLaughlin Group, Meet the Press, This Week with David Brinkley, Crossfire, Hardball, Today, Good Morning America, CBS Morning News, Late Edition, and Equal Time. mclaughlin.com
