The Heat Is On....
>>Whether the energy is inside or outside Novell doesn't matter. What matters is taking Novell's technology and developing consumer level products.>>
Paul:
To deny the existence of huge power/control political games inside Novell is like trying to deny it's raining on a rainy day.
You can say "it doesn't matter whether the energy is from inside or outside Novell" but the fact remains, if there are the same classic calculated political roadblocks inside Novell....NOTHING is going to happen outside Novell.
And here's the central core point of all this.
TRUST.....
For some unknown reason, Novell doesn't trust the world, it's customers, this board and all of what's "out there."
Novell is withholding trust from the world.
They can think they are doing what's right and prudent, etc., but they are turning off the spigot of energy with each turning off/lower of the trust pipeline.
Look at Cisco. EXACT OPPOSITE of Novell. John Chambers has powered this company on the strength of ONE core asset: TRUST. John is open, intuitive, out there and trusting. Sure, he has a great team to back him up, but this man IS mapping the Internet's energy. Now, some may have a big argument with me about Cisco, but the stock price speaks for itself.
Novell is still sitting on the shoreline while the River called the Internet could potentially pass them by.
They need to extend trust, open up, take risks, jump in the river and communitize.
If they take this next step, the potential would be just staggering.
But there are those who must stagger out the back door before this happens.
Either you are giving energy or taking energy.
If you are trying to control, limit, restrict, politicize and take energy you will, by definition, default off this great platform and never even get the chance to ride in this great river of New trust, energy and excitement which will form before our very eyes.
Watch this tapestry unfold.
As it unfolds, watch what Novell does. Will they embrace this trend or will they hold back and wait, watch and NOT risk the chance to build these vital, threaded relationships which will align and assimilate along lines of service?
The companies that allow their employees/partners to "get out there"....off the shoreline and in this raging river will be well served.
For all we are talking about is ENERGY. And where you have trust you have risk. And where there is risk being taken there is energy and knowledge and value and service being shared.
Go where the ENERGY is.......
My arguement is that it's NOT inside Novell.
I think there are those inside Novell who know this.
I think there are those inside Novell who may even risk taking this stand to make this point. It's not for me to know who they are, but I know they must be "out there."
Peace.
