How about a new PC line ?

Don't doubt 1 Q's revs & earnings are soft by comparison to 99's 1 Q , but, as you hint , investors buy on expectations.

Web sez: " I'm waiting for the next fad, which I think could be B2B..."

Can't help but wonder if IBM's new PC line intro was delayed to support 1 Q's earnings report ?

Check the 2/7/00 date and IBM may have some new "partners" as it is more than a "refresh":

-----
" The makeover will include two new desktop models, an
"all-in-one" commercial desktop, and a "legacy free"
system that is built with new, standard USBand other
technology. The changes also will include Netfinity,
Intel-based servers with smaller form factors.

David Thomas, IBM's senior vice president for the
Personal Systems Group, made the revelation at IBM's
PartnerWorld 2000 conference at the San Diego
Convention Center. Thomas declined to be more specific
on the moves when pressed on the issue following his
conference presentation.

However, a spokesman said the changes would actually
be "much more" than a refresh, and would include
sweeping changes to the personal systems brands
offered by the unit."
