They are nearly always ways of transferring money from the company to the plaintiff's lawyers. They are usually settled, with the stockholders get little or nothing and their lawyers cleaning up. Even if the suit wins big, the corporation will be bed of capital and the stockholders end up very little ahead. There is also the possibility in this case that the licensees (centers and physicians) might sue for abuse of patent and price-fixing.
