Maybe I'm missing something....but isn't the idea that you could buy Sledgehammer and run a 64bit OS on it. But your 32-bit apps would continue to run, perhaps better than with Itanic?

I think Sledgehammer is a good idea but there are reasons why a company would want to migrate from 32 bit to 64 bit in the first place; presumably because 64 bit is better. If so, then why would they not simply convert their whole system over at one time?

In another post Joe H. explains why not...the software is too expensive....which is what I expected....and many companies can not afford to make the conversion all at one time, making Sledgehammmer an excellent alternative. However I again have to ask the question why would MSFT cooperate....its not to their advantage as far as I can see.
