All of the superconducting stocks have been going up, and were going down today. I got into this stock at around $3, and frankly expected it to stay there for about a year. Superfilters are to cellular in a sense what dense wave division multiplexing is to fiber -- a cheaper way to upgrade and add capacity. At least that's the theory I went by in making a small speculative investment in this company.
As far as the sudden run-up goes, since it involved all of the superconducting companies, I think that perhaps it may have something to do with larger companies such as Lucent, Nortel etc, taking positions in these companies. Somebody had to be buying these companies, so who was it?

Essentially, when SCON gets orders from other customers than U.S. Cellular, I think that we will see a lot of strength in the price. Remember Lucent recently bought Ortel for about 3-Billion, and the market cap of SCON is only about 1/2 Billion. I really don't think that it has as much to do with the volume of sales, but rather the technology.
