Re: Promo for WTNH interview with John Miller of 20/20

News Channel 8's exclusive interview in the story of Suzanne Jovin's Unsolved Murder

(WTNH, Mar. 1, 2000) _ He's the only suspect named in the murder of a Yale student. But before "20/20" airs its interview with James Van de Velde, News Channel 8 talks exclusively to the correspondent who spoke to him about the murder of Suzanne Jovin.

ABC's John Miller asks Van de Velde about the polygraph tests he's taken, and why he won't agree to take one with New Haven police.

An excerpt from Miller's "20/20" with James Van de Velde

John Miller,"20/20" reporter: "Did you kill Suzanne Jovin?
James Van de Velde: "No.
John Miller: "Did you stab her 17 times?"
Van de Velde: "No. I had no relationship with this woman, we never argued, I never saw her outside of the class, I didn't even know where she lived. And here they're accusing me of murdering her."

John Miller: "Do you carry a knife?"
Van de Velde: "No. No...I don't, I never have. No one who knows me could possibly state I'm a violent person... creepy weirdo...does unusual things...carries around weapons, threatens people. No one could possibly state that."

See our exclusive interview with ABC correspondent John Miller, tonight on News Channel 8 at 11pm.
