Kemble - re: it is only natural that these companies would look to Dell (their PC provider) for an e-Commerce solution. This week's computerworld has a well done feature on ecommerce vendors, including a table of leading vendors and case studies... they have HP, IBM, MSFT, Oracle, and Sun. Neither DELL nor CPQ got a mention. did you know Nasdaq is run on Dell servers??)... NASDAQ runs on Unisys and OpenVMS systems with some Tandem Himilaya in the mix. Some of the front end work is done by DELL - but IBM and CPQ also have a bunch of the front end business. The front end pieces are fungible - whoever has the low bid when they add systems gets the order. Unisys and CPQ seem to have a lock on the back end.
