  Gap Inc. Announces Management Changes At Banana Republic and Online Divisions; Jeanne Jackson Leaving Company to Become CEO of Walmart.com
  SAN FRANCISCO, Mar 1, 2000 (BUSINESS WIRE) --  Gap Inc. (NYSE:GPS) announced today management changes in its Banana Republic and Online divisions following the resignation of Jeanne Jackson, who headed both businesses.
  "We wish Jeanne much success with this exciting career opportunity," said Gap Inc. President and CEO Millard S. Drexler. "In her five years here, Jeanne has helped to build Banana Republic into a leading apparel brand, and in the past year and a half she's helped to expand our businesses online. Most important, she leaves behind an exceptionally strong and talented management team to continue our growth."
  On an interim basis, three senior Banana Republic executives will run the business through a newly created Office of the President, reporting to Drexler. Those executives are:
  --   Jerome Jessup, Executive Vice President, Product Design and      Development; --   Gary Muto, Executive Vice President, Merchandising; and --   Amy Schoening, Senior Vice President, Marketing.
  Collectively, Jessup, Muto and Schoening have more than 22 years of experience at Banana Republic and Gap Inc. A president of Banana Republic will be named at a later date. |
