LOL!!

Well at least I know that people are looking at Carolyn, Rudi, Peaches, and my profiles! Look at the warning I just received from earthlink:

Dear EarthLink member,

According to the Terms and Conditions on the use of your personal web site, each EarthLink member web site is entitled to 250 MB (megabytes) of traffic per month. You can read about this policy at:

websupport.earthlink.net

This message is being sent to warn you that your web site has just exceeded 75% of your traffic allotment. Please take steps now to reduce this traffic.

Please note that if your web site's traffic exceeds 100% of your monthly allotment, EarthLink's policy is to charge a pro-rated amount of $58/gigabyte in excess of your allowed traffic. This works out to roughly $0.10/Megabyte of traffic. You should receive a message similar to this one informing you when you do exceed the limit.

Your monthly traffic is calculated by the number of hits that your site receives multiplied by the size of your files. For example, if you had a 50K file that was viewed 100 times, that would generate 5000K, or about 5 Megs of traffic.

To do a daily check on your web site's traffic status, visit:

home.earthlink.net

and enter your e-mail address into the form. It will email you with a report on your traffic and disk space limits.

Possible steps you can take to reduce traffic are:

- Reducing (or removing) any excessively large files.
- Remove adult-oriented or illegal materials (if any).
- Converting image files to smaller sizes (for example, JPG files are usually smaller than GIF files).

If you have any questions, please email us.

Thanks,

ELN Webmaster
