He is proposing to use Adcon- P (by Gliatech, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio) to pour in my abdominal cavity over the tubes prior to completing the procedure in order to reduce formation of scar tissue/adhesions and make them easier to remove. He says it has been used successfully for other types of surgeries and in other countries. In order to use the liquid, he needs me to sign a consent form requiring me to have a mandatory second surgery, primarily to check my results for the study and remove any adhesions that may have formed. I?m concerned about both using the experimental liquid and undergoing general anesthesia again for a second surgery that may not be necessary. Any help, thoughts or ideas appreciated. Thanks.
