To all,

I have been buying over the last two days and have more shares than I had before the report came out. I will be keeping those shares. I received info on operations tonight.

The company is careful to not give me any information that isn't available to the public. They adhere strictly to SEC rules on insider information.

Deswell is in transition. We must remember that it's actually three companies - Jetcrown, Kwanasia, and Kwanta. We must also remember that the 1997/1998 growth was largely due to the growth of Kwanasia, particularly to the audio customer.

Past events-
Kwanasia sales of audio products started declining a little over a year ago and went to zero early last year. Jetcrown continued supplying the audio but recently chose to stop. These lost sales have been replaced by Jetcrown, but not by Kwanasia. Electronic component assembly has been very price competitive with potential customers willing to sacrifice quality.
Jetcrown is operating at capacity, but needs more space. This hampered Jetcrown's rev and earning growth this past Q.
Earnings were impacted slightly by the sudden rise in resin prices.
I don't see it in the report, but Kwanasia and Kwanta negatively impacted earnings.

Looking forward in the next post.
