Bought a little ctp and a few jdx traders today, looked at jet and hoped it doesn't get away, there was little time and i had to call green line to arrange a transfer ... a full hour on the phone ... the first half hour is not so bad because you just leave the thing off the hook, go throw the ball for the dog, fix some lunch, etc, because you know it'll be that long at least ... but after that you check for stopped muzak more frequently as the minutes pass, at fourty minutes you hold the phone to your ear and read a book, at fifty you decide to buy a speakerphone, at fifty-nine comes a firm decision to change brokers if and when one demonstrates ability to do the job ... then a bright competent young lady answers the phone and regretfully informs you that the dividend which was supposed to arrive in your account yesterday is not there, so you cannot transfer it anywhere. According to the rules, that is. This is one bright lady, she says the hell with the rules and transfers it anyway, knowing full well that puts the account in margin deficit until TDW coughs up my cash. Not so bad after all, once you get to a human being ... of the dozens of individuals i've spoken to at green line only one ever jacked me around, and another one fixed the problem right away ... yet the system is completely hooped, and no way can you contact management ... oh well, three more calls to green line and i'll have finished The Complete Works of Tolstoi.
