GLW v. JDSU

What is the 80/20 split in reference to? And where is SDLI?

GLW for the Q ending 9/99 (12/99 not reported yet):

"The photonic technologies business, which manufactures photonic modules and
components primarily for the optical amplification market, realized strong
volume gains in the third quarter of 1999 led by new product sales. Third
quarter sales in this business increased 50% to approximately $105 million over
the same period in 1998. "

Photonics is just one segment, does not include revenue from glass fiber. Total revenue for GLW for the quarter: $1.136 billion

JDSU for the Q ending 12/99:

Total revenue $281.7 million

I would guess GLW's photonics revenue for 12/99 will grow to between a third and a half of JDSU's.

Disclosure: I own both with JDSU being the largest holding in my portfolio and I will own a lot more GLW when my OPTX gets swapped for GLW sometime in the next few months. Earlier JDSU bought my OCLI. As I learned more about the GG I thought about selling my chimps/princes but it looks like the Gorillas/Kings are adjusting my portfolio for me.(g) Now who is going to buy my SDLI?
