In the last few days?or maybe weeks?I?ve noticed there are new and more posters showing their presence on this thread. Many seem to have been present? in some form? for sometime. Some are no doubt long time lurkers until recently. Well as I see it?. This is great?more interest is ( in my eyes) an indicator of the increased meaning Aware has in regard to this sector of the market.
But,
I notice there is an underlying discussion happening also. That is best described by the word ? communication?. Or the term ?New and improved?faster than ever before?push button?Communications via the Internet and the World Wide Web?. Whether it be satellite, wireless?via cell phone, cable, optical or the same old copper loop?via xDSL or ISDN?OR?in our case ?ADSL & ADSL over ISDN? it is still the ? New & Improved way to Communicate?!! Information is now at our fingertips?and soon to be instantaneous at the push of a button. Soon there will be no more World Wide Wait. Soon it will be ask and you shall receive?BINGO an answer?reply!!
Have you noticed?I say? soon to be instantaneous???? So? now?If you hit the button and stare at the screen and wait?you ain?t instantaneous!! Instantaneous is what we want?desire?demand?need and calll for! If not and I am wrong? I wish to Cyber slap you upside the head and ?Instantaneously? trigger your ass into high gear?.OR? leave you to sleep until Hal freezes over..
A true marvel from my prospective. As I am a person born in 1951. The transistor radio was truly a remarkable and major technological thing to carry in one?s shirt pocket, well at least back when I was coming of age. Then later? Stereo was for those of us who were better off, however, most of us were still Mono listening folks?who didn?t even know the ?Diff ? (?diff ?is a modern 60s or 70s term) Mono is a term you younger folk are probably going to need to ?Ask Jeeves? about. But who cares since we all now live in a Dolby world.
THX (Thanx??) Mr. Dolby (http://www.dolby.com/ )for that. Whoa?.shame on me for my - lucidness in regard to George Lucus. (http://www.thx.com/)
Wow!! What happened there? Did you get side tracked?? <gggg>
If you?re still with me, expresso maybe the thing for the moment. NO!! NO!! Paul?not the Viagra!!! Back off Jack!!
O.K!! OKAY!! To cut to the chase?or get on with my meaning.
AWRE has grabbed a major portion of the market it has set out for and targeted. Would you think 50% is a conservative figure? Well, ADI if used as an indicator would blow our sails to the front,if not?who has more of the market?? Orckit? Nope. TXN? No way? TI may never benefit from their Amati purchase, probably would have done beter letting WSTL have it. No disrespect for the Amati people, it's just that Amati wasn't timed to fit the niche to be profitable?sorry, but they weren't the first to be a day late and a dollar short..OR Mike?ahead of ther time. It happens as they say.
So who else???
Alcatel??
NO!
Not the way I see it. A strong competitor to AWRE?YES. But, Alcatel did just make a grab for Newbridge Networks?who has been doing very well in the DSL sector?AND is a AWRE licensee. Why has Alcatel pulled in NN?? Safety?? Maybe?.but I keep thinking?.?If ya can?t beat them?join them,?
I?ll probably live to regret this post, but?at least I?m AWRE of that. |
