Warning on Palm IPO : CNBC Europa discussing PALM and Psion

Unfortunately they said Palm IPO will suck, in other words its pump and .. IPO. It opens up and then come down next few years, they said.

Palm has promised to do GSM-phone on Palm platform to European markets, but sources seem not to believe they have any technical manpower to deliver anything.

Nokia, Ericsson, Motorola (= symbian) marketsehare and ready technology and brands on mobilephones globally is the competitor for Palm here.

Palm has PDA's 70% marketshare globally, but it's no competitive advatage here, it don't help them deliver in phones.

CNBC was talking globall dominance on phonemarkets here:

Cellphones and wirelees connectivity in recent and future cellular networks and services.

Unfortynately Psion, Nokia, Ericsson are not emptyhanded 'against Palm' .

They have a Palm-look-alike- smartphones ready to hit the market. Because it seems that Palm-look-a-likeness is very liked form of PDA in USA.

They need only to deliver that outlook in USA and they will.

The strategig postions are:

Palm outlook - desingbrand will be used by symbian smartphonemakers.

Palm has no technology agains them to deliver on wireless connectivity.

Wireles is just developing too fast: GPRS next summer, voice-over-ip-, 2gen WAP and 3rd networks 2002.

Psion targetprize is now 100 Pounds.

Not my toughts, but Cnbc Europe, if anybodys interest....
