Norsat to Integrate Broadband Satellite Access and Transport Products to New Norsat Broadband Networks Business Unit
BURNABY, B.C.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 2, 2000--Norsat International Inc. (TSE:NII. - news; NASDAQ:NSATF - news), a provider of satellite ground station components and systems, today announced that it will integrate the multimedia information transport systems and components to be acquired from SpectraWorks, as previously announced, and the satellite broadband access products under development for ASTRA-NET and KoreaSAT, into a new business unit offering satellite I/P network solutions. Gordon M. Deans, previously Vice President - Satellite Solutions, has been appointed to head the new unit, to be called Norsat Broadband Networks.
The Company also announced the following appointments to Norsat Broadband Networks.
Peter Devanney, Director of Business Development, has over a decade of experience in systems sales and business development, most recently with Bell Canada and Simware Inc., an enterprise Internet application software firm where he led the Business Development organization.
Irine Karassiouk, Senior Business Development Manager, was previously Area Sales Manager, Europe for Glenayre Electronics, responsible for Glenayre's paging and voice messaging products in Europe.
