Very interesting John.. so basically a competitor threw up a white flag and capitulated at the sight of this merger. This is big. No one knows the market and competition better than the companies that are waging war on the turf everyday. If THEY believe WIND is the victor. Well... that speaks volumes.

A thought - I knew Siebel had won the CRM war for sure when their #2 and #3 competitors allowed themselves to be bought out by other companies. #4 ran off to a safe niche to continue the fight.

What is exciting for WIND is ...
1) They apparently are the lead horse in the market now.. by a much bigger margin than before AND the competition believes that as well (at least some of the competition).
2) This market could/should explode. The time is now for these "zillions" of internet devices. Hooking up "zillions" of 'things' to the net versus millions of people. The next tornado phase this thing called the internet (mother net) is about ready to step into.

Exciting times.. and a bit scary. The net, in essence, becomes one all pervasive, world encompassing, real time, mass of humanity, things, 'intelligence' and control.
